Trouble at the Smoke Pine Tavern: A 4th Level Adventure for 5th Edition
The Smoke Pine Tavern was never a particularly popular establishment. It offered decent food and strong ale at reasonable prices, but lacked the shine and polish that other establishments nearby had. One day though, folks started coming in droves. They would eat until they were sick, rushing to the lavatories once their meals were done. Despite the oddness of the situation, the owner, Delfur Grimmhandle, counted his blessings and hired more staff to handle the increased traffic. What he didn't know was that an otyugh had made its lair in the sewers directly beneath the tavern. Using its telepathic abilities, it was overwhelming people with images of food and messages of hunger so they would eat and eat until they became ill. The otyugh would then feed on the filth pouring down from the building above. Unless someone deals with the creature soon, things will only get worse for the tavern's patrons.
