The Silvered Tongue: A 5th Level Adventure for 5th Edition

Amnon, The Red Hand, has sent his lieutenant, Bal'golaath the Xagoth, to the port city-state of Lustra to capture and then replace a powerful noble named Midrin Jastir. Bal'golaath, using his ability to shapeshift, has assumed the identity of Midrin and is slowly working to further his master's plans within the city. Midrin's wife Mia, however, has begun to suspect that something is amiss with her husband. Whereas he was once a gentle man, this "new" Midrin is prone to fits of anger, and he spends copious amounts of time out of the house, supposedly on "official business". Fearing something dark might be influencing her husband, Mia dispatches one of her closest servants to the local adventurers guild with an anonymous request that is both vague and lucrative. Travel to a specified location and receive 1,000 gp as payment. With nothing more to the request and no idea who the patron behind it is, the guild reaches out to some more seasoned adventurers to see if they'd be interested.
