The Last Road: A 3rd Level Adventure for 5th Edition

The trade road between Arcanfeld and Fallwell has been dangerous as of late: bandits have been plaguing the route and there have even been signs of a dragon soaring above. Phillip Nevins, a local merchant, has put out a call for adventurers to act as protectors as he makes his annual trip to Fallwell to the west. The trip will take a tenday, and if all goes well, the caravan should pull into Fallwell unscathed. Unfortunately, for Phillip and his guardians, the trip will be anything but.

The Crimson Hoods, a bandit gang that have long plagued the region, have recently taken over the Traveler's Rest, a small tavern along the trade road from Arcanfeld to Fallwell. Using its basement as a base of operations, they've increased their attacks on passing caravans and have even begun kidnapping travelers for ransom. The burning wagons and smell of decaying flesh has also drawn in a red dragon wyrmling named Xathrax who has begun preying on both the bandits and caravans indiscriminately.  The characters will need to deal with both the bandits and the dragon if they're to reach Fallwell safely.
