Keep of the Elven Kings: A 5th Level Adventure for 5th Edition

The great elven kingdom consists of various fiefdoms, all of who serve beneath the High King of the elves, Iyrandyr Daemar. Once every ten years, there is a conclave of the various elven lords at the High King's keep deep within the Great Forest atop the elven city of Dael Corrinth. Such a conclave was in session when suddenly, a field of shimmering magical energy encompassed the keep trapping everyone inside. Now, fearing for the lives of the lords and the High King, missives have been sent out across the continent seeking help from notable adventuring parties. Should they fail in this endeavor, the fate of the Great Forest and all the elves may fall into jeopardy.

What no one outside the keep knows is that the magic is the result of the machinations of a meddlesome green dragon named Kaddres the Deceitful. Disguised as a court magician named Illitran, Kaddres wormed his way into the court of the High King and began experimenting with chronomancy, the magical study of time. He sought a way to end the immortality of the elves so he could rid the Great Forest, his home, of the meddlesome little creatures. While the conclave was in session, Kaddres activated his latest experiment and broke the timeline. Now, time within the keep is on a loop, repeating itself every 24 hours. This has allowed Kaddres his chance to test out a variety of magical methods of eliminating the various elf lords and their king without repercussions as each time the loop resets, all but Kaddres forget the events of the previous loop. Should Kaddres succeed in finding a way to strip the elves of their immortality, he'll restore the timeline, annihilate the elven lords and their king, and begin his systematic extermination of the elven people.
