Blades From the Shadows: A 9th Level Adventure for 5th Edition

In the port city of Lustra, King Eodward rules with an ironwood fist. A great warrior who helped settle the initial outpost many years ago, Eodward has worked tirelessly to keep his people safe and his city prosperous. One of his most dedicated and resourceful advisers, a man by the name of Elvius Heartmoor, has been and continues to be a key part of Eodward's inner circle. Unfortunately, Elvius has fallen afoul of a local crime syndicate, The Shadow Hands. A gambling addict, Elvius has dug himself a hole deep enough that the syndicate has decided he's worth more as an example dead than alive. To this end, they've dispatched a handful of spies and assassins to track him down and kill him.

Luckily for Elvius, word has reached him that an attack is coming. In order to better his chances at survival, he's put out a call for adventurers to defend him and his home from possible incursions. He's boarded up his windows and locked his doors, although that won't do much to deter a trained killer, and now hides in the basement of his estate. The new moon is coming soon, and when it does, Elvius anticipates the killers will try to use the cover of night to do him in once and for all. It will be up to his hired band of adventurers to keep him safe until the sun comes up.
